Best of 2012 – Photo posts

I could have posted every single session of 2012.  I had such a great year, with so many wonderful clients.  My business flourished this year, and I could not feel more fortunate or blessed.  I was given opportunities to push my photography beyond my limits of what I thought I was capable.  I had such a great year and I’m so looking forward to 2013 and upcoming sessions.  I am looking forward to pushing myself in new ways and to keep on this path I’ve had laid out for me.  Here are just SOME of my highlights for 2012.  These were the sessions that helped shape me as an artist this year.  The milestones for both my art and my business.  The photos I keep close to my heart.

Family Love Field Style | St. George Family Photographer

The Hugie family is one of my very favorite families around.  As soon as Kyann booked her session, I knew I was in for a good time.  She’s so relaxed and easy and was stoked when I showed her this location.  A few things about this session…

  1. Their undeniable good looks + that location + the dreamy golden light that the Lords blessed us with = Photography Dream Come True!
  2. That little Addy has more personality and more wit in her tiny body than most adults I know.
  3. Kyann and Bentley have the sweetest love ever.
  4. That little Beckam is probably the nicest baby I’ve ever met.

And I may have squished that little Beckam just once…. or twice…. ;)

Are you as in love with this family as I am now?

Seth & Mikell | Southern Utah Lifestyle Photographer

Seth and Mikell are such a lovely couple.  I had the pleasure of tagging along with them one Saturday morning while they were in town.  We had a blast.  I love photographing married couples!  While I love being a mama and having a family, don’t get me wrong, that time before kids when Mr. Miller and I were just a couple were some of my funnest memories.  I’m so glad I had the chance to document this time for Mikell and Seth.

We had a fun time just doing what they like to do on Saturdays in St. George.  We thrifted, hiked, enjoyed a few views and they even took me rock climbing with them.  I loved every second of it.  They are such a fun couple, and their love is so obvious.  They were absolutely perfect.

Thanks for looking!

Megan & Egan | Southern Utah Engagements Photographer

What a fun session I had with Megan and Egan.  I was lucky enough to have them in front of my camera last year when they happily posed for me at one of my workshops.  They just got engaged over the holidays and I was elated to hear from Megan that she wanted me to do their engagements and bridals.
She and Egan are such a laid back couple that are down for pretty much anything.  She wanted a sort of down-town, urban feel to her engagement session so we took a more “date night” approach and hit up some of St. George’s beautiful downtown locations.  I loved that they personalized it with the popcorn and gummy bears (their favorite treat) and of course we had to get Megan’s favorite, 25 main cupcakes.
We pretty much laughed the entire time.  I can’t wait to get them in front of my camera again for their bridal session, we’ve been brainstorming some super fun ideas. :D

thanks for looking,

Eric and Tiffani Elope | Southern Utah Couples Photographer

Hello my lovely friends, I hope you had a fantastic New Year’s.  After my busy holiday rush, I’ve been spending my time playing barbies with my girls, reading on my new kindle fire and spending some MUCH needed time away from my computer.  In my time away I’ve been dreaming up some new ideas and changes in my work and I’m really excited to share that with you over the next couple of months.  But more on that later…

These are my dear friends, Eric and Tiffani.  Eric and I have been friends since we were about 10 years old and I was so thrilled to hear that he was eloping with his beautiful girlfriend, Tiffani.. and that they were stopping by my place on their way to Vegas ;) Of course I couldn’t let them go through without a session.. it was their wedding day, after all! We had such a blast.  Tiffani is obviously beautiful, but she’s sweet and so funny and SO in love with Eric.  It was so fun to spend the afternoon with them.  It was such a beautiful day, perfect day for laying out a blanket and snuggling under the beautiful desert sky, so that’s exactly what we did. :)

As always, thank you for looking.  It means a lot, really it does.

Meet The Baird Family | Southern Utah Family Photographer

This family is so awesome.  I met Trisha when I was pregnant with my 2nd baby.  My husband and I took her Bradley Method classes and I loved her so much, we hired her as our doula (laboring coach) as well.  She played a big role in my pregnancy and natural birth and we are bound for life because of it.  Not to mention they are all an amazing, active family.  Trisha runs a few marathons a year, Jeff is an Ironman athlete, they’re always biking or running or on some cool adventure with their family.  Every once in a while we’ll bump into each other at a birth I’m photographing and she’s assisting in, which is always so fun.  I love any chance I get to catch up with her, so I was elated when she booked her family’s holiday session with me.
I’m used to shooting young families with babies and toddlers, so to be able to shoot a family with teenagers was a fun change of pace.  We breezed through the session and got a lot of great shots.

If you are pregnant or planning to be, I seriously recommend taking Trisha’s classes, they’re amazing.

Thanks for looking!

Meet the Morris Family | Southern Utah Family Photographer

I had so much fun with the Morris family.  It was this sweet mama’s birthday the day of the session so it was fun to celebrate for a bit with them.  We spent most of the time chatting and giggling with lots of snuggling and lovin’s involved.  That little Kimber’s red hair just melts me.  She was the perfect little model. :)

Thanks for looking!

Create Workshop | St. George Photographer

Hello!  Did you miss me?  I missed you, terribly.  I would apologize for being gone so long, but I’ve been working on such cool projects that I can’t wait to share with you.  This has been a HUGE time for all of us (me) here at Cassidy Miller Photography.  My business is changing and I’m settling right into where I should be.
so, THANK YOU to all of my supporters who have made this journey possible.  All your comments and questions have fed my soul in ways I can’t explain.  Keep up the good work you little lovies. ;)
While I have lots of projects to share with  you, some of a top secret nature that are going to be saved for a later date, I am so happy to announce that after much thought, many requests and some amazing artists I have finally opened up my own beginner mentorship workshop.

Photography has become such an amazing part of my life.  I have really discovered my own art over the last 3 years and I’ve been guided by some of the most amazing artists in the business.  I really have gotten as far as I have with the help and hospitality of others and I feel like it’s my turn to give back.  I am now offering a workshop for beginners. The Create Workshop really focuses on learning your camera, the ART of photography and developing your own style.  I’m really excited about this new adventure.

If you’re interested in booking a workshop with me, please email me at cm.photo{at}live{dot}com.

I kicked off my workshops a few weeks ago with some really fun students. Here are some photos from their session.  Megan and Egan are SUCH a darling couple.  They were so nice to model for us.  I’m looking forward to more sessions with these two in the future. :)

Thanks for looking and for just being totally awesome.
