I had so much fun with this session. Rachael is a close family friend and she’s just about the sweetest person you’ve ever met. She’s always out and about with her kids, always doing something fun. She’s such a cool mom.
I wanted to try to really capture that connection and tell the story of this time in their lives right now. When I asked Rachael what they like to do for fun on their free days, she told me they usually head to a favorite park and sprawl out and play soccer or some other game and then maybe go get a treat. That sounded like the perfect session to me!
At almost every family session I do, the family is always heading somewhere fun after. Remembering back, I always loved family picture day but not because of the picture taking, because it always warranted dinner-out or an ice cream afterword. After so many times driving home from sessions knowing that the family was going out for a some real family fun, I always wondered why I wasn’t there taking their pictures. Seemed a little off to me. I want to capture the real you. And while part of you might be gorgeous in an outdoor location, something tells me there’s more to the story. So, from here on out, I am offering/urging you to have your family sessions be more of an evening than just an hour. I want YOU, your personalities, your family, your connection all to be part of your session and that’s something I know we can’t totally get with just one quick location. Don’t be afraid to invite me along to get a treat after. That’s where the real magic happens. I promise you wont regret it. The 15 minute we were at the snow cone shack were my favorite shots of this entire session.
So here they are, Rach and her babies in the perfect way they love,
